Cabramatta railway station

Cabramatta is a junction station on the Sydney Trains network where the Airport, Inner West & South Line and Bankstown Line merge. The station has two side platforms, with a ramp connecting the two platforms. It serves the Sydney suburb of Cabramatta. The station opened in 1870.HistoryThe junction has been upgraded in recent years from a low speed one to a medium speed junction with 70 or 80 km/h in all directions. To make the higher speeds possible, the track centres have been widened from 4m at the platforms to about 12m at the diamond crossing at the heart of the junction. Longer switches have also been installed. The Southern Sydney Freight Line passes to the eastern side of the station. Due to limited space, an overhead concourse was constructed to replace a building on platform 2. The new concourse opened in 2011.Platforms and servicesThis station is serviced by four to six trains per hour each way, two to four on the Airport, Inner West & South Line and two on the Bankstown Line, with additional trains during weekday peak hours. Cumberland Line trains operate only on weekdays. During off-peak hours two of these four Airport, Inner West & South Line services towards Campbelltown terminate at Glenfield.Bus servicesCabramatta Bus Interchange Transit Systems Sydney: 805 - to Liverpool 807 - to Liverpool 815 - to Mount Pritchard 816 - to Greenfield Park 817 - to Fairfield Transdev S1 - weekday offpeak to Lansvale NightRide: N50 - between Liverpool and City (Town Hall)
